Busy weeks….
Well, we got a bit lazy with our blog, but the last weeks have been really busy for us here in Seville: visitors from Switzerland for a week, the ‘Feria de abril’, Nadine’s birthday and our little family holiday in Portugal.
Let’s start with the Feria de abril: What a great event we saw again this year! As the last Feria was being caracterized by Til’s birth in Sevilla the Feria of this year we enjoyed almost every day of it. On Monday night the famous ‘Pescaíto’, where people celebrate the inauguration with dinners in their ‘casetas’. Well, we celebrated this night quite a bit with our Spanish colleagues of Helvetia. And then of course it was time for Nadine to wear her Spanish flamenco dress….well, quite breathtaking
And thanks to a three day weekend we went with Nadine’s parents on a litte round trip to show them Cádiz and the ‘Pueblos blancos’. We have been already once to this area, but we still have discovered many new places. For example, we went for the first time to ‘Arcos de la Frontera’, where we had the oportunity to see the celebration of the ‘cruces de mayo’: a local event, where people put up flower crosses to honour spring time:
And then our long expected holiday in Portual: We went with Mona and Francisco, our chilean friends, for some days to the Algarve. What a great area: the variety of little beaches, always surrounded by impressing cliffs, the little villages fitted well our tastes. But as we both love the rougher beaches at well, as we saw them for example in Cornwall some year ago, the atlantic western coast impressed us a lot. By chance we discovered a lonely beach there, where we spent an unforgettable day with the familiy.
