A fisherman with Canadian support

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Dear friends

Last weekend we received a wonderful parcel from Desi, Nadine’s ‘Canadian mother’, who lives close to Toronto. What a joy for Mauro to open his own present and later on improving already his fishermen skills. Well, you never know as we live close to the sea, it is good to practice this kind of skills!

Yours

Nadine and Marc

A treasure of its own - Cadiz

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Dear friends!

Recently we visited Cadiz for the second time as we have already gotten a very good impression from our first visit on a quiet Sunday morning. Well, we are not the first ones to discover this unique mix of the old history, strong influence of the Atlantic and the fishing industry, the port and the good cultural life. The author Lord Byron used to say in 1806 that is was for him one of the most beautiful city and full of the most beautiful women of Spain. Well, as we have not yet seen all major parts of Spain we can not comment on the second point ;-)

Cadiz is the oldest city of western Europe, it was founded by the Phoenicians in 1100 B.C. After the occupation by Karthagers, Romans and the Moors the citz flourished with the trade business to the new world. This rich history has influenced the architecture a lot and while you walk through this place you will discover a lot of small, nice corners, quiet places, busy markets, where you can watch in silence people talking, trading, etc. Just great!

Have a look at some of the picture….Cadiz we will return ;-)
