Dear friends
Well, we have just been part of sports history here in Spain: After 44 years Spain has won again the ‘Eurocopa 2008′ in Switzerland/Austria! It was interesting for us to see that people have been quite pessimistic about their team, based on the experience of the last 24 years. And now what a surprise: great football, a good team spirit and Spain is winner! We enjoyed sharing this experience with the people from our community, as you can see in the photo gallery: http://www.von-wartburg.ch/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=eurocopa-2008!
Well, even Til has changed his Swiss dress for some time to the Spanish dress

Friends,
One week ago we had the the pleasure to celebrate the opening of the swimming pool of our comunity. To celebrate this summer event, the local comunity organized an inauguration party. What a great evening: everybody brought some Spanish tapas, drinks, a good mood and we celebrated for hours. Especially with all the Spanish experts around us, Nadine danced for the first time the very famous ‘Sevillanas’…a very sensual dance! Check out the foto gallery: http://www.von-wartburg.ch/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/fgallery/fim_photos.php?album=fiesta-vistahermosa

Well, it was the first night out for the Swiss adults together in Sevilla….a good start
As you know Football is the hot topic this weekend: Spain in the finals of the ‘Eurocopa 2008′…Sunday evening everybody here, including us, will watch the game…vamos España!!
Yours
Nadine & Marc

This week we experienced the first time the real summer of Sevilla with the famous ‘el calor’, the heat of Sevilla. During the day temperatures are between 35 - 40 degrees, but at night it still cool down to 10 - 20 degrees, which is for us a perfect combination. So you can start in the day with a fresh breeze and sleep better…a perfect summer time! It is an interesting experience to survey how we as recently arrived foreigner adapt to local weather conditions, which of course influence the way of living of the local people!
Fortunately we live in a family friendly environment with good neighbours and a lot of Spanish kids. As you can see Mauro is enjoying playing with them…..

Friends, have a nice weekend!

Dear friends,
Switzerland will host the upcoming Euro Cup 2008 with the major (…sorry England…) European Football teams. A great event to follow! Well, with all our openess to foreign countries….when it comes to support national teams, here we go now with first priority for Switzerland! Therefore we are all preparing for tonight’s game: Switzerland - Czech Republic at 6pm.
To be honest, the Swiss team didn’t get a very good press coverage in the last weeks, but we all hope now that on the tournament since can all be different
We are looking forward also to the Spanish game next week, especially to watch how the local crowd is supporting their team…also a part of local culture.
Friends, take care and enjoy the weekend!
