Dear friends
As our family is settling in here every day a little bit more, we enjoy discovering in our spare time more of Andalucía. And there are interestings things to explore! First of all we went to the ’sierra de Aracena’, an area which is caracterized by a lot of hills and small, but beautiful villages. For example: Aracena, which hosts an impressive cave, which is wonderful to see with a guided tour. For all the fans of good food: this area is also well known for very good ‘ham’, the ‘jamon the jabugo’.
Lately we went more to the north eastern part of the province of Sevilla, where we visited the town of Carmona, which is located on a hill and offers a great view of the surrounding area. Besides that the old city center with all its small streets impressed us a lot.
Well, this are all general descriptions of our tours….there are the hundreds of small observations that make this time so interestings and proves the variety of this area: The conversation with an old lady, that showed us her ‘patio’, the quietness of the countryside, etc.

Dear friends
After a busy week (e.g. two young boys with a nasty cold …) we enjoyed this weekend with relaxing, sports and discovering more of Sevillas cultural offerings, as this weekend a lot of museums had special activities to celebrate the ‘International day of the museums’. Of course, the late night visits, that we used to enjoy in Zurich (which celebrate also once a year a so called ‘museum night’), we didn’t attend this time with the baby, but today we enjoyed the ‘Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo’, which is situated in a very interesting monastry….what a contrast: A very old site which hosts modern art. An extraordinary and unique combination! Check out the link…definitly a place so see: http://www.caac.es/

Of course Sevilla has also a wonderful more classical art collection in the ‘Museo de Bellas Artes’, currently with the interesting artist Sorolla from Valencía, who painted at aprox. 1900 some paintings of different areas of Spain for the ‘Hispanic Society of America’, which has its headquarter in New York. The paintings are in the style of ‘Impressionism’, but of course with a ‘Spanish’ and not ‘French’ touch

Dear friends
As our little son Til is getting to know his environment, our familiy live is (although some nights have been harder….) slowly but surely finding its way to a new ‘routine’ of taking care of now two young boys. Mauro is getting along well with Til so far and it is very cute to watch him exploring his younger brother! As we are now also getting again more room to explore our new area, we just had a first night out at the ‘Costa de la luz’. It was a great trip and we all enjoyed our first family ‘mini break’ as four of us. Then a highlight has also Rocío been: in these days a small, but beautiful village with a wonderful cathedral, but preparing for the ‘Romería de Rocío’, where about a million people will come to this village to worship ‘Rocío’ and celebrate as well!
