Dear friends!
The week before Easter is always very special here in Seville, it is the week of the ’semana santa’. Everyday a lot of religious processions take place in the several districts of Sevilla, where very old associations carry an altar with wooden statues of Jesus Christ or Maria through the city to the main cathedral in the center of Sevilla. This processions is accompanied by very interesting classical brass-music (’marchas’) and hundreds of ‘ Nazarenos’, which are dressed up mainly in black or white. Well, difficult to explain all details, so have a look in our photo gallery:

Additionally check out some great photographs of local artists of one of the local newspapers:

For children they offer a lof of ‘caramellos’, which give this serious event even a family touch as well.
Friends, happy Easter to you all,

Dear friends!
Wow, since our last post on our website 4 weeks have gone by. As you can imagine we have been quite busy with leaving Switzerland and installing our litte home now here in Seville. So far: good news! We have established us quite well and since these week we also have our phone and internet access. We live in a relaxed residential area a liltte bit ouside of Seville, neighbours are very friendly and helpful to us and every day we manage to fix a little detail in the house that is still missing or discover something new in Seville….it is a very interesting time period and we are as a family happy that we can experience all this as a family, where we can share our impressions that we get in private and professional life.
Fortunately Nadine is doing well with the pregnancy, although the Belly is getting very big now…the ninth month is coming up and we think that we will be well looked after in the hospital that we have selected for the birth or ‘el parto’…as it is called in Spanish. Besides meeting very nice Spanish people we had last week a nice evening with some people from America, who have been living in Madrid and Sevilla already for a while. One of the couples has a blog as well: www.bowles.es.
Well, what is up for Saturday? One of our most beloved ‘Saturday morning routines’: Going to a local grocery market, where they sell fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, cheese (wonderful!) and more local products. It is a wonderful place to get into local life and of course enjoy this valuable hours for our family…and then: Tapas in Town!
Yours
Nadine, Mauro, ?, Marc
